When The Church Divides

WHAT IS THE ROOT OF DIVISION WITHIN THE CHURCH? Today’s message is taken from 1 Corinthians 1:10-31. The Apostle Paul appeals to the church to live in harmony with no divisions. Division within a church body starts when identity shifts from being rooted in Christ to being rooted in an impressive, influential person who is guided by worldly wisdom.

Unity is not built on agreement in everything. It’s built on a shared belonging in Christ and in the power of His cross. “Make every effort to keep yourselves united in the Spirit … For there is one body and one Spirit … one Lord, one faith, one baptism …” (Ephesians 4:3-6 NLT)
