Today’s message taken from 2 Samuel 23:9-12 tells us about two individuals – Eleazar and Shammah – who continued to stand and fight against the Philistines even though they had been abandoned by the rest of the Israelite army. Because they remained faithful in their battles, the Lord brought about a great victory.

In the same way, you may be tempted to step away from a particular responsibility as you grow weary from standing alone. At the forefront of your thinking needs to be that this responsibility is sacred since God entrusted it to you and your victory assured if you remain faithful. Some of the most important moments of faith in your life will not look like breakthroughs. They’ll look like simple, quiet endurance. Where has God entrusted you and asked you to remain?
