CIC Food Pantry

About

For more than 40 years, the CIC Food Pantry has served families across the MetroWest area of Boston, providing food and practical support to neighbors facing difficult seasons. What began as a simple act of compassion has grown into a steady source of help and encouragement for our community.

When you visit, you’ll be welcomed by friendly volunteers in an atmosphere of kindness, dignity, and respect. While our church is confessionally Christian, the pantry is a community mission that serves everyone—without discrimination and without requiring proof of need.

Our belief is simple: no one in our community should walk through hardship alone. If you need support, you are welcome here.

Pick Up Food

To receive food from the CIC Food Pantry, please sign up in advance using the calendar below.

Simply click on the giveaway date below that works best for you and complete the short sign-up form. Registration for each giveaway opens two weeks before the scheduled date.

Each sign-up is for one household. If you plan to carpool with another household, please make sure they also register for the same time slot.

When you arrive at the pantry during your scheduled time, our volunteers will welcome you, finalize your registration, prepare your food, and help load it into your vehicle.

At this time, households may receive food up to two times per calendar month. We look forward to serving you.

FAQ’S

Do you accept food donations?

Much of the food we share with our neighbors comes from generous donations and community food drives. If you’d like to help keep our shelves stocked with nutritious items, here are two simple ways to get involved.

Donate Shelf-Stable Food

While doing your regular grocery shopping, consider adding a few extra items to your cart. Some of our most helpful items include baking mixes and flour, canned fruit, canned beans, cooking oils, condiments, boxed or canned meals, hearty soups, and juice boxes.

Donations can be dropped off at our church’s office during regular business hours:
6 Loker Street, Wayland, MA 01778
(Door B).

We’ll be adding a donation bin for after hours drop-off soon.

Host a Food Drive

Food drives are a powerful way to support the pantry and they’re easy to organize. Gather your friends, neighbors, workplace, sports team, or community group and collect food items to donate.

If you’d like to donate food or organize a drive, please contact our Pantry Director, LaVerne Merritt. We’d love to partner with you.

Do you offer financial assistance? What about SNAP?

At this time, we do not provide direct financial assistance or gift cards for food.

However, as an affiliated agency with The Greater Boston Food Bank (GBFB), our pantry guests may be eligible to apply for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP).

SNAP provides monthly funds for groceries through an electronic benefits card that can be used at supermarkets, convenience stores, farmers markets, and some online retailers.

If you’d like to learn more or get help applying, please visit the SNAP information link on GBFB’s website.

More on SNAP

Please note: The CIC Food Pantry does not oversee SNAP benefits and the GBFB is only able to assist Massachusetts residents with SNAP eligibility and applications. Nonresidents should contact their state agency or local food bank for similar programs.
