We’re Not Okay – Why Do We Keep Doing What We Hate?

DO YOU WANT TO DO WHAT IS RIGHT BUT KEEP DOING WHAT YOU HATE? Today’s message taken from Romans 7:14-25 gives us the key to being set free from this inner war that we encounter in our everyday lives. As humans, we are slaves to sin: “I am not the one doing wrong, it is sin living in me that does it.” (Romans 7:17)

The reason for this inner war is not ignorance or a lack of effort on our part. Only Jesus Christ can set you free. Once we acknowledge that the battle is real, we can seek the Lord for victory over our sinful tendencies. “Who will free me from this life that is dominated by sin and death? Thank God! The answer is in Jesus Christ our Lord.” (Romans 7:24-25)
