The Pattern Of Rest
ARE YOU LIVING IN GOD’S SABBATH REST? Today’s message teaches us the true meaning of the Lord’s Sabbath rest. In Matthew 2:23-28, Jesus confronts the criticism of the Pharisees toward His disciples as they were breaking heads of grain to eat on the Sabbath day. Jesus’ response is best summed up in verse 27: “The Sabbath was made to meet the needs of people and not people to meet the requirements of the Sabbath.”
The Sabbath is not a day on the calendar or a boundary of control. It’s about who you trust and rest upon. Be encouraged to slow down to experience the soothing ministry of God’s presence. Take His yoke and follow His rhythm of pause, pray and play. Do you trust Jesus enough to receive this Sabbath rest?
